Thought I was doing well killing a bike after 6 days, 2nd ride out.

Don't believe the poo people post her, bones never heal (properly) 30 years later they start telling you that there is something not quite right.

But in the meantime, wait your month or so and get back on the damm thing.

Thanks for all the well wishing.

I posted that while I was waiting for a lift home lol. Bit more detail...

Rode home from where I bought the bike, no problenms, loved it. Everything was so much nicer than the ER5 i learnt on.

Went home breifly to show the Mrs, then sert off with my buddy on his XT660 (i think) to go see my best mate.

Country lane, did an overtake, so engrossed about catching my friend up that I seriously misjudged the corner angle. Hit the corner probably twice the speed I should have taken it.

Panicked, touched back brake, locked rear, highsided.

I remember my face bouncing off the road and seeing my back seat fly past me, passed out.

Next thing I knew I was laying down, legs in the air and someone holding my head. Turned out to be Fire brigade...they happened to be passing.

Police came, fined my buddy on the spot for his number plate (lol...) then gave me a roasting. They were bikers themselves.

My can had no baffles in so they were giving me stick about that...

I can see why...fitted the stereotypical "Young person, new license, first big bike, going too fast" thing. I felt/feel so...I'm kicking myself.

The bike itself sustained relatively light injuries.

Scruffs on fairings, no cracks. Right indie snapped off, rear brake lever. Scuff on exhaust.

Mate said a bit of steel bar bolted (i.e, not part of the frame) near the front headstock had bent right in, but easily replaceable.

Copper offered me £750 for the bike on the spot to which I told him politely "NO"...

Anyway, copper took my lid and rode it back to my mates garage for me, very nice of him.

Apparently he was commenting on what a smooth ride it was etc! Confident no mechanical problems.

Going round later today to see my bike, pics. Need a new lid ffs. Leathers did their job and saved me a LOT of skin...I can see some minor abrasion to my arms/elbows/****/etc from rubbing against the leathers. Now if that was the road...

I'm seriously gutted. All i want to do is get back on I dont want to wait another 4-8 weeks....
