Sh*t happens,

Man up!
(SLAP)!

I wrote off my RD350 three times in 18 months. (and coincidentally, it was the only new bike I've ever bought). Bought it back each time and fixed it with second hand bits (in pre Ebay days)

I wrote off the VF500 I had after that. In fact, Out of 50 odd bikes I think there are only three I haven't come off

You get up, dust off and get back on. Its all part of owning something with two wheels.

Glad you're not too badly hurt as that's the main thing. As for riding, it's a decision only YOU can make, not your wife or us lot....YOU. Take your time over it, I'm sure you'll be back on the bike as soon as you can be though.

Speak to the police, hand them all the details you have and ask them where you go from here to recover your costs in order to fix the bike/replace leathers & helmet.

Good luck mate and post up when you know what you need for the bike...there are always people that have bits and bobs hanging around on here

Unlucky!

The CICA won't help with RTC matters, they are there to compensate victims of crime.

Your insurance company will claim back from the Motor Insurance Bureau. All you have to do is contact your insurers and tell them what happened. Give them the Police reference number (It'll be a number followed by the date) and leave it to them.

As far as she goes, no insurance is an easy offence to deal with, do you know if she is likely to get prosecuted for the due care? I'm certain it won't be dangerous driving. Who is the Officer dealing?

cheers for the comments guys,
going to ring the insurance today see what they say.

Pete: I have a witness who saw what happened who was on the opposite side of the road so the officer dealing with the case said after they have got in touch with him first then they would pass it over to be investigated.
Surly she must get done for due care I honestly though where she did the U turn would be classed as an illegal manurer as it was right after a junction and was trying to go around an Island which had chevron marks and also for just blatantly not looking before manuring.
it was PC Morgan from Cheshire Police.

So this happened in Cheshire then. I thought they were all nice middle class law abiding people down there. I expect it in Salford.
