Me riding (on 125) on busy A road, Chris in front but I wasn't up his ****. Out of seemingly nowhere (and I check my mirrors regular as I like to know what's behind me at all times ) I hear this BARRRRP, feckin huge pipes right behind me, could even have been in my blind spot it all happened so quickly. A second later this huge Harley has appeared on my right trying to overtake but he was on the white line. I literally could have kicked him, he was well within striking distance! I hadn't the time to move over and let him pass as I would have if he'd given me any. Then I realised I was going to collide and just managed to move to the left out of the way. Really did scare me managed to compose myself and concentrate again quick enough after but my goodness did he have a lot of nasty words following him down that road!

Happens all the time Maria.

Should go on an SV rideout....happens there too. Can't count the amount of times I've looked and looked again, and some git has appeared BBBAAARRRP like and made me jump out of my skin!

But normally I'd hear them coming and move in time, but it was like he crept up behind me then revved hard to make me move but then pushed past me anyway. Gah tw4t.

You'd think I'd notice people too, but you'd be surprised at how such a loud thing can creep. Jamessunhill used to do it all the time!

Anyway...I haz a bike out the back....

Are you working?

Unfortunately I agree with Dizzy, not just SV Rideouts but any large group rideouts, even had them undertaking me.May seem petty to some but it is the reason I don't like riding in groups where I don't know the roadcraft levels of the other riders.

On the open road riding like that is just ignorance, poor roadcraft, but how often do you hear orgers saying they rev the engine at cars, bikes and pedestrians so as they know they are there, isn't that why horns are fitted?
