Nope, never been to a rave, but I'm definitely old before my time...

Wish I'd been around during the time of "The Cult" - "Bad Company" and the like

That thar's proper music...

I will have a think and get back you, Stay away from broad street all I will say, tho gatecrasher is up there but full of c0cks (never been, but walked past when there queuing up)

If it was me i would go to the 02 accademy for a night out.

But i frequent the pubs and bars in the city these days and leave the other stuff to the youths.

O that's the funnist thing I have read in a while!

In terms of Birmingham as Rob said stay away from Board Street, drove down there last night on the way to get Drew from work and it was already looking like chav central! But wednesday night was always student night (well it was for my uni)

The Institute has just reopened in Brum, but that is live music so maybe not what you are after, The Jam House is also a good night out.

I am too old for it all now (and cant help with your query) but I know the sort of thing you are hankering for Rai - I have many fond memories of 1994-1996 when I was into the rave scene - ahhh good times

Not been to Gatecrasher in Birmingham but been to the white party and to see Above and Beyond in Sheffields, top nights out.

If youre ever further up north head to Manchester and go Sankeys, its reguarly voted 1 of the best club nights not just in the country but the world. I've seen Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten there, many moves were busted that night!

Problem is, it's alot more Drum & Bass now... Nothing really like what you're after...

Problem is getting away from the ned's who are just out for a scrap...

Aberdeen's not great for clubs, everywhere is severely overpriced at a weekend and there's too many ned's...

Wednesday's are by far the best night's out, alot of student's but could be worse, cheap(ish) drinks and good music...

Still too much commercialised stuff played though!
