IMO good suspension is more important for road riding than track... it's only because you've not ridden a bike with working forks... the difference in stability and how quickly you can apply the brakes is mind boggling

I have to admit Chris if yours are better than what I have now you are going to make a lot of money from SV owners

So is it knackered head stock bearings that cause a clunk over bumps? ive noticed that if i hit a bit ov a pothole, even a minor one it tends to clunk..

It can be but there is a clunk which is produced by the fork internals.

^ a few would do it, i think the bandit6 would do it as i think im write in saying the forks are the same type (damper rod)
all i know is before my RSV front end swap it would clunk, now it dosn't but there again it has all new head bearings as well. |

![]() These spinldly little 41mm beauties were better than my fully sorted K-teck "every possible thing in there" forks on the GSXR 600. But it'll be because Chris uses Undiluted Voodoo Specially imported from Jamaca, not that common or Garden stuff. ![]() And if he get his lathe going the new bike is itching to be converted too ![]() I got my springs from the same bloke you did Dan, Nice bloke and great set up! Nice little indutrial estate too. C Last edited by Berlin; 25-10-10 at 10:00 PM. |

![]() Sometimes heavier springs and the thicker oil shuts it up. It could quite possibly be part of the valve inside the fork banging closed or a bit of cavitation or something that the thicker oil prevents, or soaks up a bit so you can't hear it.

Ah so you nipped over to Sutton on Forest to get your gear. It is a really good set up and he knows his stuff. However I have volunteered myself as test pilot #2 as I am really intruigued about these forks. I never really appreciated how "good" good forks need to be until I really started pushing the SV. |

Well if we both get them done, I can send you my settings and see how you get on with them. You might have to reduce them by 20% as mine will be for the track. at the very least, I'll be able to give you a base setting to work from.
