the only reason I would use a centre stand would be servicing.....but I just bought a paddock stand instead for £30, I have not once ever desired a centre stand when I park the bike somewhere lol

except when some moped muppet parks so close to your right hand side that you can't get the bike vertical as happened to me twice last week! same damn moped both times - next time he does it i am dragging his bike out of the parking area so he gets a ticket ![]() that said, i wouldn't bother with fitting a centre stand on the sv |

I miss the centre stand on my old Bandit 600, neither the SV or ZX6 have one. I do all my own servicing and the centre stand can be very useful for removal of the front-end, wheels, and swing arm, but I never used to use it for parking. I park in London most days.
A paddock stand will help you do servicing that doesn't require the swing arm to be unsupported (shock change, swing arm removal) and costs ~£30. An NWS/Abba stands will support the bike by the swing arm pivot meaning the bike is stable for removing the front-end, changing the rear shock etc. As to how easy it is to use the after-market centre stand that comes for the SV I have no idea, there isn't one supplied direct by Suzuki so there's a chance that it's not going to fit exactly where you'd hope. Good morning all.
SW Motech make decent, well thought out centre stands. They're available from Motohaus Powersports in Basingstoke, at a mere £148 inc VAT. OUCH! Bikes without centre stands are a pain in the backside when it comes to maintenance. Particularly of the front end, or for swinging arm removal. Cheers. |

Agreed it would be useful for servicing, couldnt see myself ever using one when parking the bike, but an abba stand is cheaper than that so why bother.
