Slipper clutch....if you get one you wont want to ride without one again!.

Are you blipping the throttle when downshifting?. The SV has a lazy motor so doesnt need to be downshifted that many gears so you could try going down one less. Manually slipping the clutch out will also reduce the amount of lock from the rear but to be honest shouldnt be needed on the road.

My thou has a slipper clutch, so I am told. I have never felt it operate, and I know for a fact that it didnt stop the rear wheel locking up when trying to bump start it in first gear - and before any one says not to use first gear for bump starting, it was when a cold motor stalled on pulling away and there was only enough motion/time to try a quick clutch drop.

no point to having one IMO. If you are good enough to need one, you are good enough to not have to ask us lot.

Which is perfect reason not to get one.

Nick, if it is locking easily when down shifting, you may want to review how you're changing down. It will happen occasionally if you're hooning and time or judge it wrong, but shouldn't be too often. Is it happening when you're going down multiple gears at once? Try going down one less if it is, or releasing the clutch a bit slower.

Spend some time learning to blip the throttle. Clutch in, change down gear, blip throttle, clutch out.

Once you've got the hang of it you'll do it everytime you change down without even realising it, it becomes second nature.

Yea it happens on multiple gear changes, may be its just a little bit of unexperience especially on the track
