No need to raise the extra £500, If you read on to the point where I discover its recorded damage I drop £500 off the price. I'm only looking for £2000

Hi

Sorry to hijack this but got 1 question....

Owenski you say the first big service...what would this entail as i thought it was just the valve clearances needed checking (& anything else that needs doing) on top of a normal service. @ 15k .

Sorry for the hijack Vardy peeps.

RE: valve clearences, Id consider anything where you need to go poking around inside a the cylinder head a pretty big job lol, wouldnt you?
I think the cheapest someone on here has mentioned having that bit done for is £120, the remainder of the service is as it would be with a normal one. Check nothings loose and replace all the filters/plugs, its usually a tyre and brake pad one too depending on how keen you are on burning them through.
Its the £120 vc that I was essentially refereing too, a bike listed at £2000 is actually £2120 if its yet to have it done. My concern with the one Rob posted the link to is that the mileage is 14800 and my suspicious yorkshire mans brain tells me "they've shipped it off to a dealer before the service cos theres something up with it" it could be just co-inky-dink but like I said its defo worth asking the question.

Hiya

Phew i was worried then, haha. Yeah i would call that major but thought there might be other stuff. Mine`s just turned 16k and am prepared for the valve clearances, but am gonna do the plugs / filters / etc myself. I plan on getting the valve clearances done by Steve jordans in the new yr as that`s above my capabilities.

Do me a favour while you're there, just check I didnt leave the iron on.

yeah its had the VC's done they were fine. zaust pipes are all nice, not the shinest down pipes in west yorkshrie but thats to be expected when its dizzies neck of the woods. its had fresh plugs and oil filter 3 times in the last 12 months through preference and it's got another set waiting to go in when I do a spruce on boxing day (which is when Im next home). The air filter was last changed the same time as the vc's (15600 miles IIRC) then its had full pads put on a few hundred miles ago, included with it is a chain and sprocket set which are waiting to go on. I've got the tool to do the job but there is still plenty of life left in the current set so I was waiting until the salt etc had cleared from the roads before swapping them over.
