Most horse boxes are fairly substantially built which makes them heavy, heavy to the stage you feel them pushing the towing vehicle before the over run brake kicks in. Some will be to heavy for the normal car to tow when loaded with all your gear.As an alternative look at towvans, you can get low floor versions. I would be looking at these rather than a cumbersome smelly old horsebox.

Any particular reason why it needs to be a horse box?

I'd say a box trailer would be far easier to keep waterproof, warm etc.

Lighter to tow too and no problem for a normal car, lighter than a caravan.

One of the lads that does the endurance has a similar trailor to the one Ralph has posted. The rear tailgate folds to the floor and the roof is hinged at the front on two gas struts so that you can lift it up for access. He takes all his gear out and puts it in the pit garage, blows up his air bed and sleeps in it. His one is only about 5ft tall and he tows it with a Focus.

He bought s/hand of ebay

Box trailer sounds like a really good idea. Looking around on ebay, there's loads about but some look pretty crappy. Something to look up when I'm supposed to be working tomorrow! Cheers guys
