Idle Banter For non SV and non bike related chat (and the odd bit of humour - but if any post isn't suitable it'll get deleted real quick).![]() |

I love real Mini's! New ones are not a patch on the old ones!

My first car was a mini 1000, which had been tweaked by one of my father's mates and went far faster than it had any right to.
Excellent fun until some bugger stole it. Well you could open the doors with just about anything. |

I was doing a bathroom before xmas and the asian bloke who owned the house was a mini nut who had a huuuuuge workshop at the bottom of the garden, he was building a calibre turbo 4x4 based mini
![]() It was about 50% done when i seen it, feck knows how he was gonna get all the 4x4 bit running, he seemed to know what he was doing. He already had the donor engine etc, just a case of finishing, love to see when it was finished. The ebay one looks a right laugh, bet it has embarrased a few people. |

I saw a supeecharger for sale at an autojumble once for £850 without a manifold and it wasn't even known if it was any good.
People have done all sorts of engines in them. Some have had two, yes TWO R1 or Hayabusa engines fitted! There are even companies who sell ready made bolt on kits to fit Vauxhall or Honda 2 litre jobbies. It wouldn't be quite the same as an old A series though. I'd like to get a lovely Elf or Hornet and shove a quick motor in it. Or do one of these: ![]() Or a moke. Or a van. Or a pickup. Or an estate. Oh my. |

Remember seeing one on bluepeter once with a V8, so big he moved the dash and bulkhead back to fit it in.
0-120mph in under 11 secs they claimed, not too shabby ![]() |

Love my Mini's - had around 6 in total - the one below I owned for nearly 11yrs and had an impressive spec in it's day. I nearly cried when the new owner trailered it away 11months ago

I bet that didn't break any speed records being powered by a Dyson!
