Depends on quite a few factors, you can be sent anywhere, more than likely in the UK to begin with.

If you were allocated to the installation or commissioning teams you would likely do 2 weeks on, 1 week off, living on either a jack up or flotel. You can get stuck at either end of your rota due to weather, you can also be sat for two weeks doing nothing due to weather. The service techs are usually based out of a specific port, i'm not to sure about service as I work for projects not service.

A mate of mine works for Halliburton out in the North Sea off Norway. I have no idea if they employ sparks but it may be worth a try?
