Padgetts have a number of bikes still in crates that no-one is allowed near. It's rumoured they have 3 or 4 UK spec Honda RC30s tucked away still crated.

When I win the lottery I may take a trip up to Batley and take Clive out to lunch for a little discussion about righting his wrongs.

Yep, and haven't they got some brand new LC350's? I know there's bikes they've built up, which haven't done any miles, but are sitting in all their glory in Padgetts showroom?

They do. Padgetts are so vastly over priced anyway, that they seem to be able to keep them crated up
They also have have some RDs and the likes in there. I knows....cause I iz local innit

Not overly keen on the place, we asked them if they could do a service on the ZZR14, which is due a biggy for its 30k...they looked at us funny last year when we told them it was a 2008 model! They obviously weren't interested us throwing money their way

Not Padgetts, but a Swedish dealer:

When you buy from Padgetts you have to account for the PAT - Padgetts Added Tax.

The 350LCs were being sold at 6 grand each. They did sell some at that price too, so it was obviously worth them keeping some back in the 80s as they probably paid about £450 each from Yamaha when they bought them.

They have an amazing collection of very rare bikes and spares, but you do pay through the nose for them. Someone has to pay for all that racing and sponsorship I suppose.

.
certainly do!

Theres some lovely rare bikes, that they care to show off...behind the DO NOT TOUCH signs, and up on a mezzanine where the likes of YC can't put a grubby finger mark on them! I don't doubt theres plenty more hidden away

A journo doing a feature on them was asked by Clive Padgett to name what he thought would be a rare spare part to see if they held it in stock, so he asked for RC30 standard cylinder heads... and Clive thought for a second then reached across and pulled some off the shelf for him. New RC30 heads are rare as rocking horse droppings

Yeah, not as good as a nearly new sportsbike for the same money. Also far too much to spend on a 'Y-reg' GSX-R when you can still get good used examples of them for under two grand, the price difference is a lot of petrol/tyres/tax/insurance.
