I haven't even really finished my Galfer upgrade and I'm already looking at whats next, suspension me thinks. I also like getting nice new shiny tools so, all in all not the cheapest of hobbies out there.

So I'm just wondering if there's anyone else out there who also quite possibly enjoys working on their bike as much as, if not more than actually riding it. Or am I just a bit weird and in dire need of my first track day?
Aye, you're describing my life there. I developed a bit of an obsession last year when I was doing my project bike and I'm still finding things to do. I had to do a routine service on my other curvy recently and ended up stripping it down to an engine in the frame and then rebuilt - pretty much just for the hell of it.

Before getting into that last year I was doing the house up - which only really needed a bit of decoration but I ended up gutting it. Installed a new kitchen with all the electrics and plumbing. New bathroom involved moving a wall and relocating all the plumbing, wall mounted taps etc.

You can see the theme. I've always been a practical chap but I have a sedentary job so the DIY stuff gives me an outlet for that aspect of me and I enjoy it as a hobby. Funnily enough though, I wouldn't want to do it for a living.

FYI - If its the usual LED / Brake combo in one unit - they are not very good and also I believe an MOT fail.

From people who used to follow me, they could not tell when I was braking.

Not sure if they are the same ones or not though.

Just been on the phone with the parts department at demon tweaks to get a definite answer. So here's the skinny...

I asked if these light clusters were road legal and if they would pass an MOT. According to the dude on the phone, any aftermarket product can fail an MOT as it is mostly due to the discretion of the MOT tester. Even an E-marked exhaust can fail. But, the MOT tester at demon tweaks does install and pass these light clusters at MOT as there are no MOT guidelines on how far apart indicators need to be. The guidelines mentioned before and in other threads seem to be more to deal with the manufacture and design process of motorcycles... Loop hole I know but none the less.

So I am a little more comfortable with the idea of this cluster badger now, but I think I would still like to see one in use and more importantly follow one on the road before I get one.

That light cluster is a C&U no no. Install it my all means. But don't whinge when the cops pull you. And then go over the rest of your bike.

My personal opinion is that it is down right dangerous. Car drivers dont need an excuse to run into the back of you when you are full legal. (I know as I bear the scars). Give them the cop out that you failed to indicate. (Because your back light was flashing, that could be percied as a faulty light) and they will blame you.

Construction and Use applies to the law that the Police follow and does not necessarily relate to MOT's. For example an aftermarket can can pass an MOT but you can get pulled 10 mins later because it differs from what was on there when originally manufactured and i louder than standard so in breach of construction and use guidelines.

Just because they will pass these clusters at MOT does not make them legal, and MOT is just a roadworthyness certificate not a confirmation the bike is legal.

There is a minimum distance between each indicator. It's 9 inches.

I'll just use my gentlemen areas to measure it... The distance between the 2 brake light strips that is...

On another note whats the best way to polish that down pipe of mine. No innuendo implied I promise you.
