I was at an Esso garage yesterday and noticed a little converter on the pump to help you convert price per litre to price per gallon. Funny thing was, it only went up to 95p a litre! Those were the days eh?

Time to take a couple of jerry cans to be filled up and kept in the garage for "emergency use" maybe? So when blockades happen, theres still some fuel direct to hand
Oh and give the push bike a dust off and check over in case aswell

I had started to wonder why everything had gone quiet after the 1p cut at the budget.

So its taken how long for people to start opening their gobs again? Should have started up as soon the budget was put out IMO.

Mind you, don't do much, protesting like this, apart from filling up and using it all up 'going slow'.
I'm glad Peg has changed jobs now, doesn't cost him 200quid in fuel a month

Annoyingly, this happens when I've got a sh*tload of miles to cover in next couple of months (relative to the paltry mileage I've been doing recently anyway...)

I think the mountain bikes coming back into use.

The thing with this country 'true fuel' cost
[RANT](before VAT Tax on the gate, Tax on the Fuel+VAT and VAT Tax on all that)[/RANT]

is around 0.40p a litre.
I would love to know how the UK govt. (and previous governments Cough Conservative Cough) thinks taxing the **** off the country is a good idea.

our country has massive expenditure and in order to fund this we have to pay our tax, if they took 70p per litre off the price of fuel which would loose them billions, where would you like it put?

Slap it on the council tax? put road tax up to 1000£ per year per vehicle?

Im not happy about it, course I am not, but the government will not ever reduce fuel duty, it's too much of a gold mine for them and it pumps too much tax into the piggy bank.

Genuinely & honestly, if you hate being taxed so much move to a different country where there isn't so much tax on fuel because that will happen quicker and easier than our government ever cutting fuel duty...

This will not work - look at the grief there was over a 1p cut, they would have to close the NHS to pay for a 24p cut. It's a real pain and totally pointless, oil prices are going up....

I was just pointing out that.
Since May 2010 this Govt has added around 5p in duty (£2.5bn extra approx) plus the VAT (£1bn extra approx), the current budgets were done with fuel being constant at £1.25/l. Whats this govt. doing with this money...

...paying off the £170 or whatever bn (that coalition argument is now p***ing me off and wore very very very thin) which is one of the lowest fiscal debts in the developed world.

To annoy quite a lot of you regarding council tax... we haven't had a rise in over 5 years

An insert from the news raised eyebrows this morning.
Last week there was a sharp drop of price in raw products such as oil, silver, gold, food. Oil IIRC dropped by 9%!!
Inflation for food is at a current of 4%, but with promotions its actually at 3%. When you compare this to that of petrol which is currently at 20%.
It is unlikely we'll see a drop in petrol prices any time soon
