I concur, gruntys carrot cake is rather splendid, which reminds me, haven't made a batch for a wee while

I know of some hardened Northern blokes who hate anything that is green, coming anywhere near their plates....but when served carrot cake, they bow down to its marvellousness!

Southern, quite like green stuff actually. Really like carrots, just not in a cake. You can't have veggies in a cake, it's just wrong. It's like pineapple in a curry, apple in a stew... oh, hang on, I can see my argument falling apart. Pork with apple sauce. Mmmmm. Nope, it's just carrot cake that's the problem!
