Trading name of well known motor broker Adrian Flux.

They're certainly able to place business for modified bikes but I can't think of a single insurer that would have a problem with replacement brake lines anyway. There's certainly no way they'd be able to avoid a claim because you had them.

Unfortunately you got the office plank.

They all seem to make a big thing about that - I think they probably just make everyone do their CBT.

They'd maybe have been better off giving him some insurance training though.

I just got a renewal from bennetts.
Last year it was £156 fully comp..
This year its £190.
Called them to ask why and was told that the insurance companies basically run at a loss in the 1st year to get you as a customer..don't know if this is true?
Back to Carole Nash now..130 f-comp.

Interesting theory. It would explain why 90% of the time it is cheaper to find a new quote than to be a loyal customer.

I've found it rarely pays to stay with the same company - 2010 Best insurance for me Post office, this year renewal =£150 fully comp, Hastings Bike direct £80 fully comp. No question really, same £200 excess too, but almost half!

So I got my renewal through from MCE (rip-off) today. Last years premium was for my FJR1300 at £360 fully comp. Changed my bike to the SV in Nov 2010 and didn't get anything back for downsizing. This years quote was £365!!!!

After a call, the bloke said he would get it down to £355. After me saying 'not a chance' he said he would try and get it for less....I proceeded to ask 'If you can get it for less, then why is the lowest quote not the first quote?' Anyway, I told him to kindly bog off, went online, found a quote, made one call, and got the same cover for £169. Nearly £200 less. Has the world gone mad?

That's very odd, I phoned Bikesure for a quote this very evening and they provided a favourable price despite numerous modifications including braided lines. I think they just make it up as they go along sometimes.

Been insured with Footman James for 3 years. Policy is fully comp, free European and UK breakdown recovery, unlimited mileage, full no claims bonus, legal protection and for the first year andsecond years a £300 excess.

Premium was £104 on the 400 gixer for the first year, last year swapped it to the SV mid term at no extra cost. Renewal last year then came in at £118. This year they quoted me £148 (underwriters were Equity Red Star) so I shopped about and Direct line quoted me £104 (underwriters were.....Equity Red Star!). That was without the breakdown though so I went back to Footman James told them what I'd been quoted and they requoted me £108 for exactly the policy I'd had with them since the start but with the excess reduced to £200. I went for it.

Can't be bad, premium has in effect gone up by just 4 quid in 3 years.

Just renewed mine which stayed broadly the same for the VFR this year at £123 for comp, so I stayed where I was (A-Quote). Others were offering it slightly cheaper until I updated the automated quotes with the exhaust cans, panniers etc then it went up.... Bally excess is getting stupid though, £350 compulsory with every quote grrrrr!
