i always feel that there is a little part of me gone when pets die.

i dont have any pets now afetr the way the last one went, it still gives me nigglymare flashbacks.

But only 2 so far have been that special pet you have that bond with.

Kaspar had his teeth out in early May, I'd been monitoring him since, and although his health improved briefly, it went downhill again recently. I'd booked him in for a visit in the afternoon, pesky bugger had eluded me catching him, so I had to rebook an evening appointment, thnakfully he'd been dozing on the sofa. I'd been concerned about a cyst that had gotten very large after his last op....this wasn't what got him I may add.
I won't go into detail, but what was supposed to be a casual meander to the vet, turned into a emergency vehicle mad dash, avoiding elephants and camels...

It won't switch off in my mind, as it wasn't a particularly pleasant experience for all concerned in the house at the time. The YCs, Smudge, me or Pete, luckily son no1 was at cricket training.
