Well, there are Essex peeps going. It's just that the small group who meet on Fridays may not want to go.
But they have their own annual ride somewhere, so that's ok ![]()

Not quite correct----one may want to go but is waiting for medical reports first before committing, thats why I started this thread to see who had already committed or were contemplating going. According to the main thread it is Messie,Hongman and PaddyT at the moment?

Dizzy, no offense intended, it isn't the organisation which is the issue, that's always been brilliant. As has the location. It is some of the people riding like they are a$$holes with something to prove and there's no need, so it is the ride itself I do not enjoy which is half of the point for me.
And Messie, as far as Friday nights and scotland goes, all are welcome to join us on the ride, if they are willing to make their own accomodation plans then there is no issue. Friday nights has always, and is always (as far as I'm aware) open to all who wish to come. |

There are other instances I have seen, and it's not a case of just letting them go - with that many bikes it is always going to be dangerous overtaking. The one instance I found myself in, was an almost hairpin bend, which goes quite steep uphill, and because of the incline you can see quite a way round the bend, so I'm riding along minding my business in a group probably about 30-40 long, and said person comes round the outside - at this point I'm thinking, nice overtake, obviously had a good look up the slope fair play, even if you're not getting any further on because there's another 29 bikes infront of you. And then, he drops it infront of me, and slams on.... 'nuff said. |

Fair do's Dave
I didn't have this happen to me apart from Quiff overtaking me on probably what was the same bend, only for him to have to get it round the hairpin which he hadn't seen and was heading for a field ![]()
