When money is no object I'm gonna get a full rebuild done on a sx200 and have it tuned to ~20/25 hp, they go pretty well for a scoot as they don't weigh a lot

Right giggle to ride and love the whole noise, smell and sound of them.

My Father in Law has been riding bikes for years and he used to have a Gilera 180 twist and go scooter which he tuned up and put lots of race parts on. The scoot used to do 100mph+ (apparently officer).

I had a go on it once and heading up a dual carrageway from junct 14 on the M6 with a beemer beside me, was great fun. The look on the drivers face when he was struggling to pull away from a little scooter was priceless.

I do know he got stopped by the police once when riding it and managed to get off with a "stern warning". I guess they must have thought it was some kid riding and when he took off his helmet and they realised it was a 70 year old.

Gutted when he got rid of it as that was my toy to play on when i visited him.

yeah I couldn't leave it standard either bypassed the limiter, heavier weights, bigger carb and a little head work saw 85mph on a run (although that did result in a dropped valve.... ), but to many years riding bike, I was never able to feel comfortable with a balance point below my feet.

No I've had a word with Mrs Rictus and the space will be used to move the other two around and fixup the one I couldn't get to, with an aim to sell it at some point, before I indulge in the next project (whatever that might be).

Cheers Mark.

You've got space in your garden? Turn it into a vegetable patch. You could grow lettuce, carrots, cabbages, peas, tomatoes etc.

you really have no idea; do you, I've spend nearly £4000 on petrol so far this year, I'd need a dam sight more than a veg patch sized amount.

Cheers Mark.

Besides, you could never convince Mark to contemplate eating greens, never mind growing them!

Oh I eat greens, but only under two circumstances

1. the Mrs is here and I get brownie points for it..
2. they are called "mushy peas"

Cheers Mark.
