No hope.

I'm going to put it all back together in 20 years. 90% of it is brand new bits still in the packets

Got another mate with an RGV250 which I push in and out of his garage and occasionally start up to ensure the pistons dont sieze in the barrels that says the same thing when I suggest I might as well give me the bike for all the attention he gives it

Red and black one with dymags and USD front end.

Lozzo I hear what your saying and I'm not a fan of the bike mentioned, but more so the 90s bikes which are the bike I grew up with.

I didn't enjoy having to rebuild 2-strokes all the time because the oil back then wasn't anywhere near as good quality, and I didn't particularly enjoy having to rebuild Honda top ends because after almost 50 years old Soichiro's mob still couldn't make a bloody camchain tensioner that was worth a .

yes but it was fun learning to ride by the seat of your pants. yokahama tyres spring to mind 'you do the yoki koki and you slide about'. i was one of the sad individuals who actually enjoyed tinkering with bikes and all my mates used to come to me to get theirs fixed. i also had a polishing fetish back then and will admit that i even polished the brass float bowls

modern bikes are streets ahead by comparison and tyres are just a different league coupled to that brilliant suspension and outstanding brakes. as a result of this bikes are much easier to ride.

Seriously! You really can't compare bikes from them to now.

Wonder if kids now will look back and call a 2010 cbr1000rr **** because it doesn't fly :/

If they were perfectly good bikes back then there's nowt wrong with them now. Sure stuff moves on but if you get your jollies ragging stuff right to it's limits then you can still get that on with the old stuff just the limit is a sight nearer.

I still reckon the early slingshot GSXRs are some of best bikes out there and I'd definitely have one as a "need to use it every day but have a laugh too" bike, not with clipons though...

I'd wager drinking vast amounts of petrol while creating not a massive amount of completely unusable power... but sounding and smelling great!
