When do you service your bike?

My Versys gets serviced very 3750 miles, which is right according to the Kawasaki schedule. When it comes to the schedule I do go through each point and meticulously do what is listed, but I do deviate from it in as much as I replace the air filter every 7500 miles not every 11250, because by 7500 it's as black as the ace of spades and only fit for the bin. I'm sticking to the Kawasaki service schedule even though the bike is 6 months and two services out of warranty purely because it seems to fit in nicely with my use and mileage... and the fact I work at a Kawasaki dealers and do my own work helps keep servicing costs down but keeps my service book nicely stamped up.

The CBR600 trackbike was getting an oil and filter change every other trackday and a full nut and bolt check the day before every trackday. It's just had a complete engine service including plugs, valve clearances, new clutch plates/springs etc and loads of little bits done here and there on the chassis to get it tip-top and ready for the next one... whenever that may be. First it needs to go on a dyno to get the carbs properly sorted because it runs a little rich in the mid-range which causes it to bog down slightly when hard on the throttle between 4 and 6000rpm.

The TS250 just gets ragged whenever it's run, but I will change the gearbox oil and kick the tyres before I start to use it next winter - if I'm feeling flush I may even MOT and tax it and not run it around on a dodgy lookalike trade plate

For a two or three month lay up I wouldn't bother, I'd just stick it on an Optimate and fire it up and check tyre pressures when I'm ready to ride it.

Oil and Filter every other trackday.

Brake Fluid about every 4th trackday

Valves Clearences twice a year

lob it in the shed with a full tank of gas as soon as they put salt on the roads, throw a nice toasty cover over it. Retreat to BMW or push bike until salt is gone. Then start bike (its a honda so it always starts) when salt has gone and take directly to my mechanic for tyres and a service. Enjoy until salt returns and repeat.

It's got to be mileage if you ride your bike often enough. Other than that it's on a time basis. Just because you don't ride the bike to get to the servicing mileage, that won't stop things like the brake fluid going off.

Haven't ridden my bike for the best part of 6 months but that hasn't stopped it having a service.

i service it according the the schedule (as theres lots the dealers done and wont do thats called for) However things like fork oil and bearings i will do if they are required and if the weathers nice and i like to do it. so that lind of thing gets done when i have a free weekend when i want to play with the bike. and is usually the 24 month stuff that gets done every year now.
