Most of my favourite riding memories have been on the track, 2 days in the Nurburgring on a closed circuit with some brilliant people was awesome. Also commuting on A13 from Southend to City and all the near misses and traffic light races made the journey whizz past. Some of my worst memories were on track too

Much like Lozzo, far too many to recount in one post. I'll keep my favourite riding moments as anecdotes for the pub, where I could recount a different one every night.

The first time I ever rode on the motorway on my own - to Southampton (270 miles away). Was very proud of myself that day.
Following Wideboy from here to Shropshire and back. When we were coming back I kept up with him. Keeping the bike upright whenever I stop (I know Im not the only one thats vertically challenged ![]() |

Been riding for a loooooong time so have many, many good memories. Probably one of the best was going to Le Mans on the Firestorm back in 2005 and having a pair of Gendarmes come up by the side of us on the peage and flagging us into the next service area. We thought we were in for a major rifting - we had been making rather dramatic progress - and started to get the bike documents out. Turns out they were only wanting to tell us about a speed trap further on. They told us to keep it at the speed limit until we saw them again, which we did. We eventually saw them again just south of Rouen. They pulled in to the services (lousy tank range on the 'Storm!!) behind us, had a smoke and a brew with us then rode with us for about 50 miles. Was some of the fastest miles I've ever done with a police escort!!

most memorable moment in my biking history was the first day i went out on the main roads. 1984 on a Kawasaki KH100 EL that i had to build from a basket case my brother discarded. ever since that i have always had a grin on my face when out on a bike. and if i remember right my insurance was about £20 for a rider policy from Norwich Union.

Ooo so many.
As pillion with YC - 1) First ride ever on a bike - on the Isle of Man, and leathers way too big for me as borrowed, doing the Southern 100 course, hitting big speed and me with the biggest grin. 2) Kinlochleven loop chasing Luckypants on his Viffer at one of the GMs, YC sliding off the bike at every angle imaginable and me resisting the urge not to slide off with him ![]() As a rider - 1) Getting up our drive of doom first time I'd sat on, started and ridden the bike ![]() 2) Riding up to Mallaig and back on my todd, first long trip away just me and the bike. Loved it, riding those roads I'd been on for the last three years as pillion. 3) At this year's AR when we separated off back to the campsite, fab ride even in the pouring rain. Treacle and Messie behind me, and a handful of others in front. Went to get feedback from both lovelies that night, Messie not realising it was me, eeee made my night ![]() |

I had to get Dan or Steve to ride mine out of the garage and up to the flatish part of the drive. I could manage no probs with the babyblade as could plant both feet firmly on the ground...but the kwak being so tall, my legs so short and very deep gravel on the drive was almost a guaranteed recipe for a drop. Saying that, the little tilt where they had to park it up for me and the fact that there was a little gravel there too meant that even then, I had to put a block next to the sidestand so I could push it upright easily when I had got on. I really need to grow a few inches ![]() |
