although my bike suffered damage in the little tumble i had, i think the bungs helped to keep the damage to a minimum which is what they were designed to do.

1000& yes.. I had a low speed drop a while back and all the damage caused was the front brake lever (standard, my rear brake is springy so didn't go) and the bung.. not a problem considering my fairing was perfectly fine!

Then had a slightly more exciting experience on a wet road hitting some diesel and I reckon they did a fair bit to stop me from squishing my leg.. bike wasn't going too fast to slide away from me but fast enough that it could have weighed down on my leg and shredded it a bit - they are well worth it.

well worth it

My bike after a 50 (ish) mph low side which went into the kerb and smashed the front end up. The Bike rode along on its left hand side. The bar ends and the crash bung kept it all off the floor. There is no damage to the tank or the rear left side fairing or the radiator. The footpeg and gear lever smashed off due to the bike driving along the side of the kerb for 30ft+ on the left hand side. As you can see the bung is hardly worn down and survived the impact and abrasion perfectly. I'd highly recommend R + G crash bungs for protection

I was looking at a new ish h*nda hairnet the other day.

I can completely understand why bungs on something like that would destroy the frame in short order, since the frame sticks down so far almost completely unsupported against any sideways impact.

A cautious yes.

They need to be strong, but not too strong. Bigger 'n chunkier isn't always better - seen a few that have bent frames/snapped engine mounts out of the cases - I'd be very careful what I fitted.

A yes from me.

When dropped after my stoppy, bung took most of the impact, fairings scuffed but not smashed. Cost less than £250 all in, to repair, including painting. If had been a set of R&G's would have been even less.(Got 'em now)

I can see that they would make beggar all difference in a high speed off but for dropping or low speed they will defo save some coin.

I have dropped the bike on the side before and also wrote it off with the crash bungs on and i would say they are totally worth having.

The drop landed directly on the bung still scuffed the lowers but they would have cracked and needed replacing if i had not of had the bung on there.

Just need some for my pointy now
