They may care a bit more if more people brought them to account instead of moaning to themselves with their head in the sands only removing it every 5 years.

Do you think my MP will respond with more than just a "would you like to contribute to my campaign funds, as he did last time?

I'd remove the grammatical error before copy and pasting or printing...

But I entirely agree with the sentiment and will be sending something similar to my MP.

I have the great fortune to have a cabinet minister as my MP.

The Right Honourable Owen Paterson MP is MP for North Shropshire. He is also Her Majesty's Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.

He always replies but I always get the official Tory Party dogma. Like on legal aid cuts, I asked him whether it was right that people who had their phones hacked by NOTW should no longer qualify for legal aid to sue News International. All I got back was how Labour had left the public finances in a mess and Something Needed To Be Done.

Yes we know that

This didn't cheer my mood up tonight.
Tonight's London Evening Standard - MP's move for a 5 day extension to their holidays for a nice pre-Christmas break in November, to make up for the days when Parliament was recalled in the Summer to discuss the Riots and the phone hacking.

politicians today don't care and will never care about the public or their views. they will do what they want, when they want, to whom they want.

the only politician i ever had respect for was Tony Benn. politics today is all about 'face' and making themselves comfortable using public money.

Quite so.
I have a pic of me and Tony Benn on some campaign or other from twenty odd years ago when people power was still just about alive. But heyho I detect some serious discontent and mutinous muttering on the lower decks and I think those days are on the way back.
The political classes are just flesh and blood like anyone else.Push em a bit and they fall over.Hit em harder and they bleed.

What about the debate last night concerning release of all documents pertaining to the Hillsborough football ground disaster? Full 4 hour debate held, several senior ministers present and outcome agreed - they will release all documents as requested?

Sometimes they do what the people ask for

sorry Messie but that's just another point that they are all conniving hand shakers that they keep things like this locked away till they decide that they want to let the public know and even then at which point they have to have a debate about it.
