Try playing around with some astronomy software - they will allow you to change the time of day, which direction you are looking in etc. That's always a good way to see how things are 'working'.
Some really good, free, software is Stellarium and Celestia |

Time of day will matter for starters because it sweeps across the sky a bit like a hand on a clock so the angle changes. Not so relevant but yes it is tidally locked, although it does wobble a bit, so over time you get to see about 60% of it in total.

I'm concerned, will any shift in the moons axis relative the earth or vice versa affect house prices in the South East?

Read somewhere that due to the moon's rotation (it has to rotate to keep roughly the same aspect to us) at varying times something like 60% plus of its surface is visible from the Earth so it will not look exactly the same all the time, only something like 1/3 of the lunar surface is never visible from down here.

It is true that the moon does rotate and thats why we always see the same side. However any large rotation in the moon's axis would then reveal the other side of the moon. More than the 58% it currently shows.
So this must mean the axis shift is on earth?

What axis shift?
Nick's right, the figure I had was about 40% you never see but not sure how accurate that is. You can see it yourself over a number of nights/weeks. Look for a feature close to the edge and you can observe that it'll move further to or closer to the edge with time. |
