I enjoy learning as a process - voyage of discovery and so on - but have been pretty disheartened by the computing degree I've been on (and from which I've just dropped out half way through). The course seems to be about pushing people through the sausage machine to give them a degree rather than an education.
I'm sure some of you will know just what I mean. |

I like to think I learn something every day. Hmm, well, anyway, I've been learning how to use photoshop and website software over the past few years and I finally feel I'm getting ok. Still lots to learn yet though.
That sounds like the sort of phrase you pick up on a management course! |

I like learning, I studied Latin as an evening class, really enjoyed it, and it has proved quite useful since eldest got it as an extra language subject this year. Also studied French, very useful for holidays.

I love learning subjects that interest me and I will listen to lectures for hours and hours and absorb most of it, but I hate essays/assignments/group discussions/presentations. I just procrastinate and lack any motivation when it comes to actually sirtting down and putting it on paper, I hate it and it worries me because I'm starting Uni in September. Maybe because I'm crap at writing essays or maybe it's because I find it pointless, I don't know.

Doing my degree now to top off my apprenticeship and hopefully give me an excuse to hide in an office in work to get away from some politics and future poor treatment coming down from management. But tbh i want to learn things at a more hands on level as it's more enjoyable. To me multiple degrees seems pointless but good luck to people that do have the time and patience to do them

Love learning new things all the time. 5 years ago I started studying photograph, last year at Uni and omg can't wait for my life back! Although beneficial its bloody hard work! Ba photography with all the theory Ontop! Final few months and I'm buzzing, plan on taking masters couple of years.
Financially I don't think it's an issue, student loan pays my fees until I earn £15.000 a year then I pay it back abit every month. I work part time which helps majorly, I live with my husband and he works , we do well considering. I would say wait for Uni until about 24 get ya self done funds, a car and then go Uni, it's so much easier to deal with a maturer head. Last edited by bikeramy; 23-01-12 at 12:05 AM.
