They are same on SV, but point still stands. Unequal damping is unlikely to make it pull to one side.

OK cool, how long would you say it should take to do a fork oil change?

to many factors involved to determine. could take 1hr could take 10hrs.

one thing i will say is, do you have something to lift and support the front of the bike while you do the work?

I have thought of that, I used a trolley jack when I did the head bearings on my old Yamaha XJ

problem with using trolley jack on SV is its not stable enough and there are not that many places to put it. if it falls when the forks are off your going to do a lot of damage.

what i done with mine is use a SS 10mm bar threw the bottom hole in the engine and then lifted onto axle stands (don't try this by yourself).

I just jack the engine up. With the jack, the rear wheel and sidestand it is pretty stable.

Just crack everything loose before you lift it.

I have a rear paddock stand could I use this in conjunction with the jack?

I find that less stable than the sidestand. The 2 rear contact points being close together and hence less stable.

Feel free to try both obviously...

I found the trolley jack and paddock stand to be stable enough for work if you use ballast on the rear seat / tail like this: -

Front axel stand was there because I had to leave it this way overnight and trolley jack tend to lower off over time.
