Clearly you missed the LVCC Middlesex v Surrey match on Sunday afternoon! For once I wish I'd been working it was that good.

I never understood cricket until I watched a 20/20 game at the oval and then last week I went to Lords on Thursday and got totally sipped whilst relaxing and having not a care in the world...a moment of pure clarity for me! Really it was, the most relaxed I have felt for a very VERY long time, very enjoyable and as a neutral a nice game. The next morning was a different story though!

I am going next month to watch one day of the england test.

LPH - if you ever get any tickets going spare give me a nudge.

Salary is £20 - 22k to start. MCC try and promote from within and people often switch departments after a year or two if another job that appeals comes up. People in this position have gone on to become Marketing and Sponsorship Manager and Academy Assistant Manager.

Perks of the job include a gym and squash courts free of charge, plus the staff use the academy for nets. A decent pension and life insurance, heavily subsidised staff canteen, excellent healthcare package, some tickets for matches after a qualifying period and a chance to play in some of the staff matches if you are a keen cricketer. Plus the office overlooks the best cricket ground in the world.

I don't get them for the major England matches but if you're ever coming to a Middlesex match then let me know as I get freebies for those.

Do you have any PR jobs going for a dedicated professional diplomat like myself?

Your diplomatic skills are akin to a brick to the back of the head!

Rather than waste your supreme negotiating skills in a game of bat'n'ball, why not run for Police Commissionaire!

I'll have you know I am the consummate professional when it comes to negotiation and diplomacy. Only the other week I had to refuse a bloke a part-ex with his nasty Triumph Speed Triple and he went away the new owner of a Kawasaki and still thinking his crappy old bike was the best thing in the world
