A this bike is "B" rated type of thing? Would it catch on though? I might buy an efficient washing machine, but I buy a bike for the enjoyment.

Some people actually use them for transport

TBH the fuel consumption kills the enjoyment of the SV for me at the moment, around 40mpg compared to 60 and a small tank, feels like every time you go out on it you're looking for fuel.

That makes my consumption look good!!!

Going back to the OP
a 600 may do that sitting on the M'way in 6th.
How long do any of us suffer the Motorway for more than an hour (unless on the charge P2P)

That sort of thing, just to give a comparison, some people even commute on their bikes so you never know.

The comparison for a bike is less important than for a car, but then I do a lot of miles in the car and only buy one based on efficiency and cost of use. If I were commuting on two wheels or doing a lot of touring I'd then start to compare bike mpg a lot more than I do now.

Interestingly the Focus I just bought is doing way less than the 47mpg Ford claim I should get. But then I do not trust the on-board info and will see what it really works out to via miles and litres put in over six months. All the comaprison guides said my 11 year old Astra (chopped in for the Focus) was only good for 36mpg, but it did 39 in the real world... Only you and your riding/driving style will determine what you really get but the standard tests *should* be a reasonable guide (I hope).

Due to a lack of personallality I shall not be buying a H@#%a.

Also Dobles done a first service on a friends CBR and forgot to fill it back up with oil. They then tried to blame him for making a mistake on riding the bike!!!! So another reason not be buy a Honda as if THEY forget to fill it with oil its all your fault.

Oh dear, did that actually happen? One would be slightly miffed and go for the jugular of the idiot doing the service.

Maybe they need a dual rating system, efficiency and fun.

CG125: Efficiency=A Fun=D
..
VFR800: Efficiency=C Fun=C
..
CBR1000: Efficiency=E Fun=B
..
Goldwing 1800: Efficiency=E Fun=E
