The Audi's have Type Approval, these and any built from Schematics will not.

There is a big difference between OEM and Retro-Fitting.

I understand a fact that it will not be legal but I actually think they me a brake light more visible and improve safety.

Safe and legal are not the same thing. I guess you could disconnect the flash bit for MOT purposes and you'd probably get away with it. Unless you make a habit of braking right in front of law enforcement personnel, in which case you'll just have to hope they either don't notice or are ignorant of / have a relaxed attitude to the relevant legislation.

I am afraid thats not your call to make.

I doubt it would stand up in court, so if you are willing to make semi-regular £60 "donations", visits to police stations etc, then feel free, its your choice.
