Could go to the Alsace, but it's twice as far as Reims, and your going to blow your budget just on fuel

looking at the ferry its going to cost £50 return.

thanks ralph looks a good idea. just need some interesting places to visit/ stay to keep us busy over two days. at the moment being more than 200 miles away from calais seems a bad idea. so staying around this area would be good, with destinations worth going to.

Also worth looking on the likes on lastminute.com, see if you can get any late deals for a Paris city break for £300. It may be cheaper to go with a travel company on a coach or Eurostar or whatever than trying to do it yourself. You'll still need to feed yourself, but there's always a Maccy D's, and you may have had that expense if you stayed at home! LOL!

For a weekend on a budget, you ain't gonna get much further anyway.

I'd camp tbh, will be around 5-7 euros a night, sometimes less.

Was going to suggest that, but its a 500 round trip from calais, so 100 quid in petrol on its own.
