Paul, most of my spannering efforts end up like that. I've found the critical error is relying on the fact you have to get it done. Do the spannering anytime when you don't need the bike and it's thoroughly enjoyable and stress free.

Haha I love it when you start work on your bike, did you ever get the chunk of wood out of your exhaust? Are you as mad in real life?

Except now I'm living the free life I don't have anyone to tell me to hurry up and add more petrol to the burning rage inside my head when all this is going wrong.. And yeah, on my list of jobs for the day, I budgeted 3 hours for the bike stuff "get this lot dealt with by lunchtime" I scribbled next to it all. 6.5 hours later and I'm almost done.

Yes I am literally insane at times. One of the neighbours down the street didn't look to impressed when I shouted "Ah ha! F**k you!!" after 20 mins of trying to get the last fairing bolt into the misaligned hole..

The bike is back together, bleeding the brakes was a RIGHT MISSION. A lot more effort than I remember, took nearly 500ml of brake fluid?? Ended up cycling off to the motorshop round the corner to get some clear tube to put over the bleed nipple. No one way valves so ended up having to give it a good suck and the system was soon pressurised.

the 4 pots and new pads are sat in the garage. I've told them I don't want to speak to them for the rest of the day. But apart from that I've managed to mangle the teeny weeny brake lines on and get it all working. The rest of the bike is serviced, just need to walk my dads dog before it phucks it down with a big chunks of rain again and then I can adjust the chain.

All that's left after that is prepping and camping all my gear. Still don't know whether I'll be coming in the van or not so gonna prep everything on-bike just in case.

I wasn't gonna drink tonight but I'm having a glass of rose in a bit.

Erm, you've been banging on to me about how it's only 2 and a half!

Then you told me the other day that one was working again - which would make it 1 and a half. Which is it, bonobo boy?

I only OWN two and a half but all three are broken. My most recent bike is a runner but still broken, although I'm getting there. Ha. So there.

I'M NOT AN APE!
