S111,We did a tour this year starting from Essex to Scotch corner[camp],over to Newton Stewart[via a bit of the GM route. Newton S round the coast up to the Dunoon ferry and then on to Inveraray down to L/head and stopped in a layby about 6-7 miles from Oban.Oban to Mallaig for the ferry to Skye camped at Sligachan Hotel. Skye tour and on to Applecross[camp].Applecross to Gairloch on to Ullapool then up to Smoo Cave[campsite] Round the top and back down to Sean bridge via Kingussie.
Spean Bridge[camp]. From there to Ballachulish Green Welly to Comrie [camp]. Comrie ,Crieff,Yett o' m' Dumfermilne over the bridge and then back down the A68and home 2033miles.

This is my 10th year doing similar, sometimes twice a year and there are not a lot of roads in my old atlas that I haven't covered but given good weather even on the same roads again it is always enjoyable.

The one thing I would say is that if you camp and watch the weather you can pick the dry spots be it west or east side as we have been caught out by commiting ourselves to YH's The secret is be versatile and leave yourself options, don't set anything in stone, most of all enjoy itand don't try and make it an endurance trial. You can always save a bit for next time because once you have tasted it you want more
