I am based in bolton lancashire.
I split the carbs up. I have a spare set and I chose the best rear carb, the one with the least worn needle jet. It also has a DynoJet kit fitted so I had to reuse the needle, I will re-check this for any marks at weekend.

Simplify the approach.

You have a specific problem, try to find out what's up. Do you know someone else with an SV in Lancashire?

Don't mess about separating carbs, just shunt the whole lot in, then you can break down each section when you know that that assembly made a difference. When a friend had a similar problem we'd substitute whole systems across until we found it.

Carbs
Both Coils & HT leads
ICU

etc, turned out in his case the loom itself was at fault. We never could find a problem with it when cold, but we dropped one from another bike on and the problem went away.

I have split the loom to check for breaks but not found any, I am going to check the ICU connectors this weekend. The coil connections are ok,
the feed wire is ok, the ICU conns are the only ones left to check.
need small screw driver to remove them from the connector block.

Ignition OK, looks like the rear carb is dumping fuel into the cylinder.
Discovered fuel dripping from exhaust connector when bike ticking over.

(Welded connector must be cracked internally)

My rear cyclinder was half firing, noticalble when riding, got worse when you stopped/slowed down. Turns out the rear carbs was leaking round the bowl... Not as obvious as you think because the heat makes it evaporate quickly. Just something to check.

Checked the fuel pump. got a mouth full of petrol. diaphragm leaking, allowing fuel into
the rear inlet tract problem solved at last.
