Don't get me wrong did kits are still good you just need to look after them, I will be sticking them on next when the current ones I have on both bikes decide to die. I've probably been lucky with my renthal kit as I've never had them before.

I don't have a rivetter, I cut the old chain off with a angle grinder and for the rivets I have an old pipe flarer that once the link is together will flare out the end of the rivet just by turning by hand. I use to rivet chains by hand with a massive punch but it took forever.

I cut mine off with the angle grinder too. It's more fun.
