If it's burning oil then it's probably not worth lashing out on a fully synthetic. I'm afraid the horse has already bolted......

thanks.

I am also thinking the oil could evaporate hence the smell when the rain hits the oil radiotor . is that possible so oil level can go down ?

I know oil evaporates at much greater temp and pressure but think maybe my bike gets to that temp .

No i dont think the oil would evaporate. It may be getting to parts of the engine its not meant to and burning though. This will give you an oil level that decreases over time, all bikes will have this to a minor extent but some will be worse than others

thanks , I bought the castrol power 1 racing fully synthetic from ebay . it was an auction and worked out around £18 for 3 liter ( 3 x 1 liter )

the bottole colour was yellowish/ brown but my old power 1 racing bottle was green . The lable printing quality was worse so as the bottle , do you guys think it would have been fake ?

I bought it from ebay and also checking the castrol page, it is also brown and label etc all looks the same as the one I have so not really sure

Default sv650 oil in the intake manifold

If it's losing oil with that sort of riding I would expect to see smoke or be smelly.
Like the others said I'd check the drain hose in the air box.

The oil is supposed to be checked with the engine warm. If you're checking it cold it's possible it's just not draining down to the window fast enough.

sorry to clarify, when you say check it when warm, that is with engine off i suppose.

While cold the oil doesn't need to drain down anyway as it will all be in the sump or oil tank so what is the issue there?
