For me it was a toss up between the PP3's and the bridgestone S20. I found more favourable reviews on the Michelin. As you say, all tyres will have mixed reviews but I've heard a lot of good things about these.

I've always preferred Michelin Tyres on the bike. Best all round in terms of cost, longevity, grip, performance, etc

If Michelin are to be belived, the PP3 should impress you compared to your old 2CT's

that's what I'm hoping for-more grip & longer life (or so they say)

They'll be replacing my outgoing Pilot road 2's (previous owner put them on a CBR600 RR ??) so I reckon I'll be seeing a big improvement regardless. I couldn't justify swapping them out until I had worn them down significantly but they're not the best suited tyre for me so glad to be changing them now.
I'm similar to you in as much that a sports touring tyre isn't suitable for me as I do very little straightline upright mileage. Due to a combination of my riding and the hard centre of the PR2 I've knackered the softer sides of the tyre whilst the middle still has 3mm of tread. |

Very odd choice of tyre for that bike!
Here's hoping that the single compound front & DC rear work in keeping the wear even as well as consistent. Have to say the my 2CT are wearing well in terms of mileage, only the front has cliffed (so far) |

Pretty sure the front is DC too? Just a medium compound down the centre as opposed to a harder compound like the pilot road.

That might be it then, a softer 'hard' compound' on the front.

Yeah, should help the centre to at least try and wear at a similar rate to the edges.
