Just got a set of these from Sidcup tyres, £175 all in. Told by the guy there that he has had several emails saying how good these things are. One guy has managed to get 12,000miles out of the back tyre! WOW. We shall see, but they feel as good as the Bridgestones and are £30-£40 cheaper, cool.

What pressures are you guys running for your Roadtec tyres?

BTW, new member from the US here. How are you all? Great site!

I run 31 / 33 psi in our money although 32 / 34 is recommended.

People seem to be finally getting convinced that Metzeler make good motorcycle tyres :P they seem especially suited to the SV

Well I don't quite know how, but the Z6's have now done over 10,000 miles

I'm amazed, and by the rate they are wearing I'd say they've got another couple of thousand left to go.

you could say the clutch problem, or easing up because of the time of year, would extend the mileage a bit, but surely not that much

the rear is noticabily squared off now, but not to the point of making the bike unrideable.

Never got to do a track day on them, perhaps that helped, but I'm kind of looking forwards to getting back to my Avons.

Cheers Mark.

This is excellent news, I would think I'll be swapping my tired 020s middle of Jan for these. Just hope I don't square them off before the summer comes!

Mine remain defiantly unsquare after (counts on fingers) around 4000 miles now... Obviously they've got a long way to go but they're keeping pretty much exactly the original profile. But I suspect Rictus tortures his more than mine

Is the Metzeler RoadTecs Z6 a resently new tire? Also is this an upgraded version of Metzelers ME Z4 tire? I guess I need to visit the Metz web site and read up on the RoadTecs. Cheers, Richard

The Z6 is new and completely different tyre to the much maligned Mez4 although the Metzeler site claims it's a replacement.

It's based on the same carcass as the Pirelli Diablo (it's the same company), but with different compounds and tread patten.

Cheers Mark.

Based on all the excellent reviews / feedback here I am getting my set of Z6's fitted this week sometime - I am completely fed up of fishtailing around on my knackered D220's through the diesel, rain and other crap on the road!!

I'll let you know how I get on - but I think it may take me until next winter to rack up Rictus style mileage !!
