40mm is not much, but every little bit sure don't hurt any. I believe the Suzuki sold frame sliders should do a better job of protecting the radiator now.

The radiator wouldn't look quite so vulnerable with a transverse-mounted in-line 4-pot motor instead of the current longitudinally-mounted V-twin

FWTW, I think both the naked or the S would look OK with a black frame provided that the rest of the bike was black too; tank, seat unit, wheels, engine paint, etc. In fact the naked would look real mean if all black and "Speed Triple" twin lights at the front.

I got to say that the black for me looks terrific! A little too much of it perhaps but very nice.I would have put a 3/4 fairing like the Falco on it...that would really look great. Plus get the wheels done gold for a nice touch.ok ok I'm off!
