Onfire

Thanks for that unfortunatly the only people who do that with carole nash are norwich union on a bike less than 6 months old.

I have gathered some prices together but fear I will still be well out of pocket. I am buying a mate's 1996 xr6 to get me through the winter then see what i can get hold of in the spring.

If you can afford it I would start looking sometime soon. Now is the best time to buy. Spring time the prices will start to rise along with the more favourable weather.

I guess its the luck of the draw as my insurer (Sun Alliance I think) paid out £2,800 on cosmetic repairs to my 2000, 32,000 mile SVS (you work out the value) earlier this year after a low speed off. They replaced the entire upper fairing, resprayed the lowers (one of which wasn't damaged), refinished the forks and, to top it all, threw in a completely unnecessary respray of the rest of the bike.

That said, I'd have rather had the mony as I was in the process of buying a new one.

ps. if anyone wants to buy 32,000 mile, 2000 SVS with perfect blue paint (by Sudden Impact incidentally) make me an offer as its sat in the garage since I got it back.

Note to self; must put ad in for sale section.

Have you considered buying back??

serioulsy they have said to replace everything, but you can straighten forks, and weld plastics, it might be worth asking them about it, then you could keep it as a winter hack and buy another one with the rest of the pay out at a later date?

worth asking them how much they want for it,

Alex

Minus your excess of course
