I think what the overweight one meant is that did you use the same pressure guage for both readings ?
As they can also differ 1 or 2 psi. + the forecourt ones are nearly always out. ![]()

Buy a footpump, take your pressures when the tyres are cold. End of story.

OK - I've been thinking about this over a beer at lunchtime and have come to the conclusion that you need add slightly more than 1psi's worth of air to your warm tyre.
This is because if you add 1psi to you warm tyres this will reduce to 0.9589psi as the tyre cools (assuming that it cooled to ambient and that the ambient air temp was the same as before). To your warm tyre you need to add 1.0429psi to the warm tyre to get your 1psi cold tyre equivalent (subject to the same ambient temp caveat as above). [I am not a geek] |

i got a footpump - but it only goes up to about 35 psi.
got a digital gauge - but my garage is a BP and has a new air thingy - you type in the psi you want and it does it all for you. its accurate to my handheld (it reads at 36.02 kinda thing - so pretty accurate in my books ![]() |
