Im also on the micron.

Although I spent an extra £20 for the bobbin and hook kit.

Solid as a rock and simple to use one handed

... think I'm going to buy the hook kit & a front stand so my wheels are off the floor for the winter lay-up

I've had one the same as the one you're looking at (used to be Tony's) and an Abba, and both have their advantages. The abba's stronger, more secure, and more versatile, but it's much more of a hassle to fit. The under swingarm type are quick and easy (and a piece of cake to do with one person, IMHO, never had any problems at all despite being feeble- the trick is to put the sidestand on a brick or similiar to get the bike close to vertical before you start.

The real bonus of the Abba was when I did the shock change though, since the other one whould have been useless.

Mine caught a fair bit in the chain too, but added bobbins and it's fine now. Well worth the extra £15 for the confidence that the stand is properly engaged before you lift.

What does the hook kit look like.

I'm toying with making one, depending on how difficult it is
