Hope that you are on the mend and just think that daytona 650 can't be that far away can it?
Yup!!

Can't imagine I'll be there this week really!!

And thanks - no I wasn't doing a stoppie (at least, I don't think I was - a serious concussion saw to me remembering anything about the accident!! )

I'm doing pretty OK now really - just getting fed up a lot... I am getting a lot better at MotoGP on the X-Box (new toy I bought in a vain attempt to keep me amused... It does hurt a fair bit to play but it's pretty damn addictive!!!).

All I can think about is the Daytona, sitting there, glinting in the sun in all it's lovely yellowness, roaring to life as I thumb the starter, flicking it hard from left to rigt on it's first trackday.

(Do you think I should chill out a bit!!??)

D'Oh!!

I didn't trust myself to remember to turn them off every time I got off, so I wired mine up to a switched feed so they couldn't ever be left on when the ignition wasn't on!

Ive just printed a strip of paper to laminate and stick on the bike... big letters... TURN THE GRIPS OFF.... stuck under the ignition.... think that should do it...

but the worst of it was I went to bed and wondered and thought no...i checked. then I wondered again got up went outside and switched them off. figured only an hour left on so might have battery for morning...

got out this morning thought Id check... started... so warmed bike up... switched off to finish up in the house... got back to bike... no battery... if only Id left it running!!!

my alternative since my mate wired them up is as I have 2 of everything gear wise Im thinking of having a spare battery in the house for those occasions when I have another dopey moment and not switch them off.

Or ask your mate to connect them to a switched supply so you can't leave them on!!??

in my case offers of beer, breakfasts and making loads of tea/coffee while hes working on the bike tends to be the best way of asking my mate....

Find something that doesn't draw too much current (horn, light, although NOT headlight, fan, etc.) and check with a multimeter that it is switched by the ignition. Then take the positive cable for the grips, remove the spade-type connector on the end of the cable & connect it to the Positive feed of the switched supply... Leave the negative cable connected to the battery!

n the K3, I found it was easiest to connect it to the rear light supply as it's easy to get to & the cable was just long enough!
