I know, when the set-up's so obvious it's no fun doing the punchline is it? Sorry, I think I spoiled that one for you. I'll do better next time.

Were you not thinking of spraying yours?

You could do it outside on a really calm day...

Tim, cheers, these guys don't seem to do 2-pack metallics though And they don't say what form of paint the "base coat" product is. I'll email 'em anyway. Cheers!

R.S. Motorbike Paint Sell small amounts.
Banditmania also do. I was quoted £70 for enough pearl paint to do my SV and a spare set of lowers. Sorry but I don't know how to put links in but Google should find them.

Mmm, I'm spraying in different colours so Banditmania are out- but they're a good link for anyone spraying in the same colour... I'm just going to use car colours (Rover British Racing Green, and probably Quicksilver) since they're easier and cheaper to get hold of in the event of further painting being needed... Cheers

Try J.F Spraystore in Motherwell. They'll sell you the paints, thinners, etc etc for the job over the counter to trade or public.

If you want a large dry shed and full spraying equipment, come down to my house. Dad's always up for a challenge when he's off for the christmas holidays for 2 weeks.. he's pretty handy too with a spray gun..
(he had 3 car garages, so he should be........)

You'll need plastic primer for the fairing panels and the rear panels. The tank will need metal primer. 2 pack racing green will cost you £10 for half a litre. Primer itself is £10 for a litre. It's the top coat stuff that's dear...

Thinners is cheap enough..

If you can do the prep work on the panels and the tank, I'll ask if dad would spray the primer and top coats...

I've decided to do it myself, the whole misguided DIY ethic strikes again Though if it all goes wrong, I'll know who to call! Thanks for the tip on the shop, I'll give them a crack.
