Thanks for your enquiry, we can help you out with the problem on your
bike so I've attached a spec sheet for you to read. We can also just
supply forks springs, they cost £55.00 + V.A.T.

If you need anymore information about the modifications we carry out
you can ring me on the telephone number above, if you can not get
through fax me your number and I'll ring you back as our phone can be
very busy.

Regards

Richard
Maxton Engineering
Hope this help

Sent an email to sales@maxtonsuspension.co.uk for price/availbility of 0.808kg/mm rated springs. I wonder if they would do a deal on a bulk order?

Nothing to expensive please! I'm only a poor hairy arsed steel worker.
Thought about the ignition advancer? Only £18- if you can fit it yourself.
On my list of must do's for next month.

everyone gets to watch "how to" while the job is being done on their bike, so when it's time for the next fork oil change - you could do it yourself, including a lesson on sag set up.

Which reminds me, where can I get a simple measuring beaker for the oil?
How many millilitres in each leg?

Dave, Do I take it you are willing to conduct such an exercise?. Or is there limited demand as the vast majority of northeren SVs with the exception of mine have already been Elmered.

I wouldn't mind being shown how to do the front springs too.
I've already got a 'how-to' but I'm a bit nervous of putting it back together and having bits left over

OK, just checked the book and it states.
Oil capacity on X,Y & K1 models - 489cc
K2 model - 478cc. Not sure what the cc is but i bought 1ltr of oil and had a drop left so no room for spillages.
I used the mm measurement when i did mine so i didn't use a measuring jug, just a engineers ruler, dead easy. Oil levels as follows.
X,Y & K1 models - 104mm
K2 model - 115mm
The manual states, and i quote "Oil level is measured from the top of the tube with the fork spring removed and the leg fully compressed"
