thats very interesting might just swing my decision - I was gonna go for the NWS over the Abba anyway, but i can't see the advantage of either against a centre stand, ground clearance issues notwithstanding

Looks rather like my centre-stand. I paid ~£70 from M&P in late 2003. It's German-made; see here. It tucks right up, out of the way of the road!

for the cost of a centre stand you may as well get an abba stand or the other one thats similar (forget the name)

centre stands only get in the way

Think it is the same one - it's made by Mo-Tech.

Don't quite see the logic here - you can't take a an abba stand with you wherever you go on the bike, just in case you might need it. If the centre stand doesn't encroach too much on ground clearance, I'll be getting one, and then i won't have to worry about stashing it somewhere when not in use either. If I had more than one bike it'd be a different matter tho.

Ground clearance
price
ugly as hell.

I've got the Super Pro. which has the bottom of the ABBA and the fitting (anybike) of the NWS. cost £75 brand new. I'm well happy, and it stores flat so takes up no room at all, better still it will work on just about any bike.

Cheers Mark.
