Purely for aesthetic reasons on an SV, also to differentiate between other aftermarket items.
A nice bit of mesh from B&Q and it's all good. |

vented with some mesh would probably look quite good actually, but not too fussed.... just want a front mudguard that has something build in to protect the fork lowers

That was the plan, my fork lowers look like crap. The whole thing how this came about is a very long story but I'll leave that for the book. £29.99 at WH Smiths. DVD out for crimbo.......
