Don't know if I'm the only one, but you don't need any extra fuel pipes/spark-plugs to accomplish flame-outs. I do it every day on my bike just to scare people-
1. On the over-run, when slowing down, when the engine rpm is around 4-5k, flick off the kill-switch on the handle-bar for a couple of seconds, then flick it back on---lots of unburnt fuel dumps into the exhaust and ignites, giving a 'shotgun' sound, plus a flame about 12 inches out of the pipe.
I'm sure this isn't very good for the engine, but its fun watchin people duck down!
Anyone else do this at all?

Yep - my twin renegades used to spit flames, especially when flicking the kill switch

I seem to remember Deb's renegade (Coolgirl) spitting flames in the tunnel on the Boxhill to Brighton run

Mine spits flames every time someone pee's me off. Like drivers using mobiles whilst negotiating a junction. Like jay walkers and p155 heads thinking it's funny walking across the road right in your path. On way back from Soho last night a bloke decided to walk across the pelican crossing just after a bend even when the little man was quite blatently red. He was also looking down the wrong way down the road. (One way street). I took the revs to the limit and I think he jumped.....oooooo.... at least 2 feet clear of the ground. Very funny I thought. And serves him right for making himself a crash object.

Don't know about the engine but I did this on a car once and burst the silencer. Decided it was a rather expensive effect and haven't done it since.

Do remember folks that although it's fun you can easily bend a valve doing this so the cost of repair is something to consider.

Another point that I don't think we've covered before is that if someone was to have a heart attack as a direct result of popping the exhaust you would most likely be found to be responsible with a possible charge of manslaughter. Obviously a worst case scenario but certainly something to bear in mind.

Default ASPER

Came onto the A130 Rettendon Turnpike ,cold engine ,and as I dropped a couple of gears for the lights the old girl gave such a serious backfire it scared the sh-te out of me,normal is a couple of pops but this was the first time I,ve ever had it give a proper backfire

As a footnote I've blown a car exhaust box to bits switching the ignition off/on which is exactly what you are doing with the kill switch,so don't keep it off for to long or you might get a bigger bang than you expect
