BIG tip, only use white spirit to clean it.......I didn't and now it has a horrible mottled effect
At Ally Pally I was advised that I can renew the can "skin" for £60 by just drilling out the old rivets, popping on the new "skin" and re-riveting.
Baldyman,

Can't you use a plastic pan scourer on your can. I used to race mountain bikes (always lost, couldn't run as fast ) and there were a lot of titanium framed bikes around. Quick rub over with scotchbrite used to bring them up again.

Try it on the back of the can (the bit you can't see) and see how you get on.

You cruel buggers!

Stainless exhausts are normally really shiny - mirror-like, and very similar tot he original can. A Titanium will have a very raw, dull look about it, and not very shiny.. It sound like you have the Tit one, but check the website for more details and you should be ok - they probably just threw it in any old box going.

Well this is what is says on the box

EDELSTAHL
STAINLESS STEEL

SCHALLDAMPFER TYPISIERT TITAN ANSCHLUSS - DIA 54MM
SILENCER HOMOLOGATED TITAN - DIA 54MM
SILENCIEUX HOMOLOGUE TITANE - DAI 54MM

Now I went back to shop and they said the stainless steel meant the link and where it say silencer homolgated titan refers to the can being titanium.

I was wondering wheather this just talk or true?

The can doesn't look that far off the standard can but the shop said that Remus only do Alloy - Shiney mirror like finish, Titanium dull but not brown finish like other companies & Carbon finish.

Does this sound like the Titanium can from Remus or am I being spun a yarn

Scoobs, TOO LATE!! I tried that, no luck, so went for the Brillo pad

Chris, Yes the link is stainless steel (Edelstahl)
Are both the end caps a brighter (stainless steel) colour than the main can body? If so, you have a Titanium can
