screens.
have a browse through the site. got some pretty good stuff there.

my best tip for keeping a bike lookin new is . . . take it back and buy a honda
*runs and hides*

naah, clean it regularly, dont use washing up liquid, use special car/bike shampoo.
dont use hot/warm water. colder the better

rub loads of WD40 into the metal work (excluding brake discs, chain and tyres) to protect it from salt (as it dries forming a protective film)

also - if its your first bike. i might recommend some crash bungs.

and wax isnt good for lubing the chain in the winter (as it doesnt protect from rust very well) a wet lube is best (engine oil is supposed to be the dogs)

think you should post a pic of the bike BTW.

Well done I did my direct access a year ago and even bought the SV before I had my liscence! I bought a car for the winter as I didn't wanna risk spilling the bike over the road as I only had TPFT but now upgraded to fully comp but from march to about november it was my daily ride so like the guys above said just clean it regularly and use some decent stuff, I use turtle wax and auto glym found it to be very good. I found though that a little surface corrosion formed around the inner edges of the front discs, the very tops of the forks and also the muffler tube inside the outer pretty one! Keep an eye on those and you should be laughing!!

Congrats on the good choice of bike!

I've ridden my SV nearly everyday for a year and would agree with what's already said - fenda extenda and hugger as main mods, and some sort of anti-corrosion spray. I use the scottoiler spray and think it's superb.

Wash it frequently as well too!
